Terms & Conditions
These terms govern all service bookings, diagnostic assessments, and mechanical repair operations carried out by Kestrel Autoworks. By booking your vehicle into our workshop, you agree to these working conditions.
1. Parties and Scope
These terms form an agreement between the vehicle owner or authorised custodian and Kestrel Autoworks. They apply to all mechanical servicing, diagnostic investigations, component replacements, and vehicle inspections conducted at our workshop premises. No variation of these terms is valid unless confirmed in writing by a workshop director.
2. Booking and Quotes
A booking secures workshop time and ramp access for your vehicle. Initial estimates provided by telephone or through online forms are provisional and based on the symptoms described. Formal quotations are confirmed only after our technicians visually inspect the vehicle or complete electronic diagnostic tests. We will not exceed a quoted figure without obtaining your prior verbal or written consent.
3. Performance of the Work and Access to the Premises
All work is performed by qualified technicians using appropriate workshop tooling and manufacturer-compliant methods. Vehicles must be delivered to our workshop within the agreed morning intake window. For reasons of health and safety under workplace regulations, customers are strictly prohibited from entering active workshop bays, pit areas, or ramp working spaces unless escorted by an authorised staff member.
4. Prices, Payment After Completion and Invoices
All prices are subject to statutory UK Value Added Tax at the prevailing rate. Payment is due in full upon completion of the agreed work, prior to the vehicle leaving our premises. We accept cash on completion or direct bank transfer against invoice. We do not accept card payments, card terminals, or payment links. The company reserves the right to retain custody of the vehicle under a common law lien until all outstanding sums for parts and labour are cleared.
5. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Customers may reschedule or cancel a booked service without charge by providing at least 24 hours notice prior to the start of the scheduled intake slot. Where notice is provided late or the vehicle fails to arrive, we reserve the right to invoice a standard bay reservation charge of £45. Any special-order components that cannot be returned to suppliers will be charged at their direct landed cost.
6. Liability, Insurance and Complaints
We maintain comprehensive motor trade road risk and public liability insurance for all vehicles while under our custody and during road testing. We are not liable for pre-existing fractures, internal engine seizures caused by low fluids prior to intake, or personal items left loose inside the cabin. Any complaint regarding workmanship must be reported to our management in writing within fourteen days of vehicle handover, and we must be granted the opportunity to inspect the vehicle.
7. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Both parties agree to submit exclusively to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales in the event of any legal dispute or claim arising from our services.
